Exclusivety of distribution of HOCL

To be able to formulate Atom8, Chicksan an exclusive arrangement between Dry Tech Aerogels and UltaPure was formulated for the exclusive use and distribution of UltraPure‘s product UltraPure HOCL in the Agriculture Sector for Southern Africa (SADC).

Atom8, WAC 6  –  (Kills 99,999% of spores, fungi, bacteria, virusses and biofilms)

Anti-Bacterial Anti Viral Anti-Microbial Anti Fungal

The challenges faced in the South African poultry sector hinder its competitiveness and growth potential, not to mention chicken and egg production shortages lately. These challenges include rising feed costs, disease outbreaks (H1N5, import penetration, rising electricity tariffs and access to reliable supply, exchange rate fluctuations and access to finance and markets.

The South African government and the National Poultry Association Tuesday, the 2nd of October 2023, said approximately 7.5 million chickens were culled to contain outbreaks of two separate strains of bird flu that have threatened to create a shortage of eggs and meat for consumers. The product have a SAPRA approval license and SACAS approval. (Attached)

The factors that affect poultry farming yields in terms of Bird Flu:

  • Well-maintained and clean living conditions.
  • Good quality feed and hygienic water.
  • Regular check-ups and maintenance of proper hygiene of the farm birds.

Dry Tech Aerogels, a South African Company and its partner UltraPure® HOCL (Pty) Ltd in Gordons Bay in the Western Cape specializing in quantum (nano) technology and the stabilisation of pure HOCL designed a product to address the above problems in one single solution. That solution is called Atom8, Chicksan and has natural and uniquely organic ingredients from the oldest but proven organic materials.

We are confident that our system and product will bring some savings and address all the hygiene challenges, including bird flu. Our organic ingredients are specifically selected to combat bird flu of different strains in terms of short (contact) and long term. Because it is organic, the strains will not be able to build resistance against our product. This was possible due to our quantum technology and the natural origin of the ingredients. Atom8 Chicksan can solve the total hygiene regime and clean any scale build-up like calcium, especially on drink nipples and bacteria growth inside the piping system (slime)?

Our main ingredients all these ingredients are food-safe and eco-friendly.

(Safe to consume by humans, animals, birds and plants and contains no side effects. See attached SAPRA approvals)

Nano Chitosan Oligosaccharide a product from Dry Tech Aerogels

Chitosan is a biodegradable, biocompatible polymer regarded as safe for human, animal and bird dietary use through food and drinking water. Chitosan has been used as a carrier in polymeric nanoparticles for drug delivery through various routes of administration. At present, CS and its derivatives are broadly investigated in numerous pharmaceutical and medical applications, including drug/gene delivery, wound dressings, implants, contact lenses, tissue engineering and cell encapsulation.

Typical applications of chitosan NPs as a carrier are for herbicide delivery for weed eradication, insecticide, and fungicide treatment and various deliveries such as plant growth regulator, an anti-microbial, anti-fungal, anti-viral and fertiliser for balanced nutrition of plants.

A 0.01% solution of chitosan was determined to be an effective disinfectant. In addition, no evidence of toxicity was observed during the cell toxicity test; on the contrary, chitosan promoted cell proliferation. DTA has recently obtained a Log 5 result for microbial and viral tests and a Log 4 for fungi tests done by EnviroCare, a SANAS-approved lab.

Chitosan is a naturally occurring polymer used to construct nanoparticles (NPs), which are biocompatible, biodegradable, non-toxic, easy to prepare, and can function as effective drug delivery systems (DDSs). Furthermore, chitosan is Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) by the US Food and Drug Administration (U.S. FDA). Chitosan NPs have been used in drug delivery by the oral, ocular, pulmonary, nasal, mucosal, buccal, or vaginal routes.

They have also been studied for gene delivery, vaccine delivery, and advanced cancer therapy. Multiple lines of evidence suggest that chitosan NPs could be used as new therapeutic tools against viral infections.

Peer reviews

Chitosan (CH) is a modified biopolymer obtained via de-acetylation of the naturally occurring polysaccharide called chitin, which contains randomly distributed (1→ 4)-linked N-acetyl glucosamine and glucosamine units (Rashki et al., 2021). CH can be obtained as a white powder composed of rigid, inflexible, and nitrogen-containing polysaccharide chains of varying length and molecular weight (Badawy and Rabea, 2011). In addition, CH has multi-faceted applications because of its non-toxicity, bio-degradability, and intrinsic antimicrobial properties. CH has been used in biomedical preparations, genetic engineering, the agricultural sector, environmental pollution control, food manufacturing, paper manufacturing, photography, and water treatment (Cheba, 2011). CHNPs show interesting interface and surface effects due to their tiny size (Ingle et al., 2008). Several studies have suggested that CH NPs could be a new therapeutic option against viral infections.

Perspective use of chitosan as an adjuvant with vaccines

Chitosan significantly improved the protective efficacy of inactivated avian influenza vaccines against infection with both homologous and drifted variants of the virus. Vaccination with inactivated avian influenza viruses A/H5 and chitosan induced high levels of antibodies even after a single immunisation and after administration of an 8-fold reduced dose of preparation. Inactivated avian influenza virus mixed with chitosan and then levels of hem agglutination-inhibiting and neutralizing antibodies, as well as protective efficacy against both homologous and drifted strains of avian influenza viruses A/H5, were measured. Chitosan is a prospective adjuvant for inactivated vaccines against avian influenza viruses, which could significantly improve immune response and protective efficacy against both homologous and drifted variants of avian influenza viruses A/H5.

Avian Flu (Bird Flu)

Avian influenza virus (AIV) is another very important virus that belongs to the family Orthomyxoviridae and causes considerable losses to the global poultry industry (15, 16). This virus has an eight-segment negative, single-stranded RNA and encodes about 11 proteins (17). In addition, AIV is divided into subtypes based on the hemagglutinin (HA) and neuraminidase (NA) proteins that are present on the surface and are responsible for virus attachment and release, respectively (18, 19). The re-assortment of HA and NA with different subtypes might result in disastrous pandemics such as H1N1, H2N2, and H3N2 in humans (20). Based on its pathogenicity, the virus is categorized into highly pathogenic AIV (HPAIV) and low pathogenic AIV (LPAIV) (21, 22).

The co-circulation of many subtypes of AIV, such as H5, H7, and H9, makes vaccination unsuccessful in production (23). Thus, developing a vaccine that can be useful for multiple serotypes is essential. Considering these factors, the risk of developing novel serotypes and infectious diseases in the human population and livestock increases (24). For instance, the highly pathogenic H7N9 AIV caused huge losses due to the intensification of the poultry production system. The increased density of poultry stocks and population upsurges lead to higher transmission between birds and humans (25). Additionally, the increased rate of evolution and pressure on the immune system limit the effect of vaccination (26). Furthermore, the use of antibiotics in feed has raised the issue of drug residues and, ultimately, pathogen resistance, so the sub-therapeutic use of antibiotics has been banned in European countries since January 2006 (27).

Nanotechnology is one of the inventive skills with an inordinate possibility of uses and a socio-economic perspective in the global poultry industry (68). The origin of nano is a word from the Latin “nanus” that means a lesser, dwarf, or minute unit approximately 1 nm equal to 40−70 m. Nanotechnology has developed the area of biomedical sciences, with a wide variety of NPs and capability regarding diagnosis to therapeutics for viral infectious diseases.

Our Solution

Combining these two main nano ingredients significantly advances were made in the world of sanitisers resulting in short and long term sanitation. For example during our visit/fact-finding with Christo at Bloekomfontein near Koster, we found that the whole farm is supplied from a central reservoir. To protect the farm in total, we suggest that we dose the reservoir with Atom8, Chicksan, which is a safe, potable, drinkable product that will sanitise from A – Z. It is our submission that all other sanitisers, cleaning and other materials can be stopped but understand that the management would instead identify a house for testing purposes. So we would love to participate in tests in a house indicated by the client.

Conclusion

In DTA’s strive to find the best organic solution for the sanitation of chicken farms, we are very confident that our Atom8, Chicksan, will offer chicken farmers a Sanitiser that not only replaces any sanitising regime and sanitising materials but also offers a great combat against Bird Flu. Should you need any other information, we are ready to submit it.

Chicksan has emerged as a promising broad-spectrum antimicrobial, antifungal and antiviral agent that has the potential to revolutionize the treatment of infectious diseases.
